This innovative approach enables us to underpin a circular economy within the sectors we operate – minimizing waste and maximizing the reuse of materials.

By adopting closed-loop systems, we significantly reduce our environmental footprint, conserve natural resources and contribute to a more sustainable future.

We continuously strive to improve our environmental performance by:

• Reducing greenhouse gas emissions through energy-efficient practices and the adoption of renewable energy sources.
• Implementing rigorous waste management protocols to ensure responsible disposal and recycling.
• Promoting resource conservation by optimizing our production processes and encouraging sustainable practices among our suppliers.

All the above activities are underpinned by our recent appointment of a ‘Sustainability Champion’ to focus on aligning activities on all IMET sites globally. Understanding not only our carbon footprint, but that of the supply chain and driving continuous improvement initiatives to help both IMET and its partners reduce their environmental impact.

Rethinking waste

We helped the aerospace industry adopt a new way of thinking about titanium and superalloy revert. Where once it was called scrap or waste, now it’s recognized as a high value raw material that, when managed and processed correctly, can be used to make more original products, with no loss of quality or value.
