What skills and knowledge did you gain? How will they benefit you in your career?
IMET allowed me to take charge of my research project, which gave me a sense of responsibility to do the project well. I’ve learned not just engineering but also management and soft skills that are transferable to any job.
How did our team support you?
The engineering team made sure that I was continuously learning throughout the internship. My supervisors taught me essential engineering skills, which I greatly appreciate.
What learning did you take away with you?
During my internship, I was able to connect things I’ve learned in university to real-world applications. I now understand the complexities of a particular engineering system or equipment, which I’ll appreciate more when I see them during my upcoming final semester.
Would you recommend an internship to other students?
Yes. It’s a great opportunity to learn about and impact a growing industry, and to work with skilled people from different fields.
