When did you join IMET?
I joined IMET in April 2015
What do you do here at IMET? What is your main responsibility?
I oversee all Turnings Operations in Monroe. My main responsibility is to ensure the superalloy wash lines are running smoothly and all technical aspects of the wash lines are being met.
What do you need to be good at to do your job well? What particular skills and knowledge do you have?
First and foremost, having a strong team around you is essential.
Personally, I have developed a solid and in-depth understanding of the wash lines, from productivity and operational performance through to the programming side. I also have previous engineering experience and mechanical aptitude.
What problems do you need to overcome as part of your work?
Managing commercial demands while upholding quality standards and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with colleagues. I don’t see these as problems, but challenges.
How do you know when your work has gone well?
I know my work has gone well by the positive feedback I receive from senior management when I have completed my responsibilities with confidence and empowerment. Also, when I see high-quality material successfully delivered to customers!
What do you enjoy most about your job and working in this industry?
I enjoy the technical challenge of the wash lines.
I also find it motivating and feel proud to know that we are one of a very small group of companies that can do what we do at such a high standard.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
In my spare time, I enjoy riding motorcycles, gaming, and keeping up with sports, especially baseball and ice hockey.
