Questions & Answers

When did you join IMET?

I joined IMET Alloys in June 2014.

What do you do here at IMET? What is your main responsibility?

As a titanium processing manager, my job is to oversee production in the titanium processing department, maintain a steady workflow, production planning, tag traceability and uphold the quality and safety standards that we have built since the beginning.

What do you need to be good at to do your job well? What particular skills and knowledge do you have?

I need a strong combination of technical knowledge, analytical problem-solving, and operational leadership skills. Success in this role requires a deep understanding of titanium processing, revert material classification, alloy specifications, and the impact that scrap/revert quality has on downstream melting and production processes for the customer.

What problems do you need to overcome as part of your work?

As part of my work, I need to overcome challenges related to managing titanium revert material efficiently while maintaining strict quality standards. This includes ensuring proper segregation and traceability of materials to prevent contamination, as well as coordinating production schedules to avoid delays.

How do you know when your work has gone well?

I know my work has gone well when the processing operation runs safely, efficiently, and meets all quality and production targets. That means materials are properly tracked and sorted, yields are optimized, specifications are consistently met, and there are no issues with contamination or delays that impact production. Positive customer feedback is also a very welcome indicator that our work has gone well!

What do you enjoy most about your job and working in this industry?

Every day presents opportunities to analyze material flow and find ways to maximize efficiency while maintaining strict quality standards. I enjoy working in an industry where precision and attention to detail have a direct impact on both performance and sustainability. It’s a field that constantly evolves, which keeps me learning and engaged.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?

On my off time I love to spend time with my family and friends, I also enjoy White tail deer hunting, playing golf, and riding ATV’s (All Terrain Vehicles).
