We believe that a successful business must be ethical. That it must balance economic growth with positive social impact.
We design everything we do to help us operate responsibly, as a force for good for our clients, ourselves, our communities and our planet.
In addition, as a global sustainable business, our priorities align with four of the UN’s 17 sustainable development goals:
8. Decent work and economic growth
9. Industry, innovation and infrastructure
12. Responsible consumption and production
13. Climate action
Because we know our business operates at its best when we hear from and are challenged by different perspectives, we maintain a diverse and independent board that brings a wide range of expertise to our decision-making.
We maintain high standards of ethical conduct and comply with all relevant laws and regulations. Our anti-corruption policies and practices safeguard against unethical behavior and promote a culture of integrity.
We actively engage with our stakeholders, including our staff team, customers, suppliers, and investors. This engagement helps us understand their concerns and priorities and informs our strategic decision-making.
We already help to build resilient circular economies through our day-to-day operations. But there is more we can do.
To improve our environmental performance, we aim to:
In 2023, we appointed an internal environmental champion, Charlie Edwards, to help us understand and reduce our carbon emissions. In 2024, Charlie worked with APAVE, a private consultancy, to review our carbon footprint and identify how we can:
We clearly state we are committed to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Along with our day-to-day operations developing resilient circular economies, when we understand our own carbon footprint we can take action to reduce our emissions and make our business more sustainable.
We recognize that the people who work at IMET want to be part of an organization that shares their values. We also know that however advanced our technology is, it’s our people who make things happen.
Because we want to help everyone in our staff team reach their full potential, we do all we can to maintain a supportive and inclusive working environment that helps everyone thrive.
To create a culture of innovation and growth, we provide opportunities for continuous learning and development. We also offer a range of programs and benefits designed to support the physical, mental and emotional health of our team.
Our support extends beyond the workplace, and we champion our team in their personal goals as well as their career aspirations.
We’re a signatory to the Armed Forces Covenant, which helps military veterans transition to a civilian career while bringing invaluable skills and experience into businesses.
In 2022, we helped Euan Hurter, then our Engineering and Technology Manager, compete in national and international sailing races. Our support included sponsorship, a flexible work pattern and mentorship to help Euan develop a winning mindset.
You can read more about our support and what it meant for Euan here.
We value everyone who works at IMET, both as an individual and a member of our team. The more positive experiences they have at work and in their personal life, the happier and healthier they’ll be, and the more new ways of thinking they’ll bring to the workplace.
We understand our responsibilities to the communities where we’re based. We appreciate their support and want to have a positive, long-term impact on them.
We provide resources to schools to support STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education and help inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers and technologists.
We also support projects that promote health and well-being. For example, we sponsor sports teams to strengthen community bonds and help people enjoy exercise.
In 2024 our sponsorship helped the Wales team compete at the World Lacrosse Women’s U20 Championship in Hong Kong. There’s a lot we can learn from the team’s ambition, resilience and teamwork under challenging conditions, and we’re pleased to say they finished seventh and maintained their excellent world ranking.

We recognize that strong communities help support strong businesses. We also hope that some of the young people we inspire through our support for STEM education will one day join our team.
