Questions & Answers
What skills and knowledge did you gain? How will they benefit you in your career?
I learned how to apply the knowledge I gained studying chemical engineering for the last four years in a real-life engineering project. It was interesting to see how core chemical engineering concepts are in all processes. Because IMET allowed me to organize my project, I improved my project management skills.
How did our team support you?
The support from my peers in the engineering department was excellent, and people were willing to help me out whenever I needed. In particular, my supervisor’s help was excellent in guiding me throughout my project.
What learning did you take away with you?
Prior to the placement, I didn’t have much industry experience, so working for IMET allowed me to see what it’s like to work in industry and apply my chemical engineering knowledge in a real-life setting.
Would you recommend an internship to other students?
Yes, I would. My time with IMET helped me learn about and help a growing industry. It’s also given me a valuable opportunity to work in a multi-disciplinary team.
